Nadine Rodman


Nadine Rachel (Wauters) Rodman passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family on October 5, 2013 at the age of 66.

Nadine was born in Eeklo, Belgium on May 5th, 1947. After spending a happy childhood in Belgium, she came over to the United States in 1958. She graduated from Bay Path Junior College with an AA in Liberal Arts in 1966 and graduated from Nathaniel Hawthorne College with a BA in Liberal Arts in 1968.
From there, Nadine worked as an Insurance Underwriter with Equitable Life Assurance Society for three years. She then worked as a Tax Return Consultant in 1973 for H&R Block and then as an Insurance Benefits Analyst at Sperry Rand Corporation for several years.
Nadine Wauters and Joseph Rodman met for the first time at the 1964 World’s Faire. In 1971, they married and then moved to Malverne, New York. In 1976, Nadine and Joseph had their first child Rachel and then Joseph in 1982. In 1984, the family moved to Morristown, New Jersey where Matthew joined the family.

One of Nadine’s biggest passions was children. She substituted for the Morris School District from 1996 until the year of her passing for 17 years. She volunteered at many book reading and publishing activities within the schools and always surrounded herself with children. She also loved to cook and entertain. Many people remember her elaborate several course feasts during holidays. In addition, her other passions were needle pointing, sewing, chocolate and coffee.

She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph E. Rodman and her loving children Rachel, Joseph and Matthew.
